Hashan and the Darkness

To say that Hashan has cursed the dark and turned a new leaf would be
folly for anyone to honestly believe. Though it is true Lord Twilight no
longer resides within its walls....as much as He ever once did... there
was no real closure to the events that occured. Lord Twilight with many
of his followers and then a great many of those who believed as I did in
Hasha left that same day. Disgusted by how how the vast majority of the
citizens would rather take the stance of ignoring problems until they go
away. There was no clean break with the Order of Twilight. They are
still there lurking about the city and still causing problems. And once
more other corrupting forces have entered seeking to hold sway in a city
that has no identity or purprose. I've posted this before and it bears
repeating. What does Hashan fight for? And no, "Ummmmm" is not a proper
response. It has no direction other than to try to keep the citizens as
quiet and calm as possible. This is can be used to allow the leaders to
hear the footsteps of the approaching armies so they know when to turn.

The Goddess of the Sun could stand at the Crossroads and shine Her
magnificent light throughout the city, and while there would be a radius
of hope and light...once you traveled from its core the shadows would
grow long and dark indeed. Any city tying itself to Hashan as it stands
now is doing it out of charity. The citizens have the tools to change
this. But they won't. Littering is their big concern. Thank the Gods
they passed that law.

I'll leave you with one food for thought. The Triad was made up in
reality by two followers of Darkness and one Who is grey. Elentari was
dark before she transcended to the Garden. I can tell you by Her
handling of the Twilight matter in the town that those skills remain.
Making a deal with any of Her children is accepting terms with the
lesser of the two evils. Not as bad as Lord Twilight, but certainly you
will not get what you paid for. The cold war that has raged between the
two groups has gone on for over 100 years. My suggestion to the
forestals is to at the very least give Hashan 10 years to see what it
turns into before you go linking yourself to something you may not want.
Or just take it over and make it a nice kiddy park with goat rides and
lots and lots of trees.
