Public News Post #12202

Whoa. I need to read news more. Yay. Let's start with a little History.
I used to be a Priest, not quite full, but well enough off probation. I
had 'issues' so I left. I joined the Serpentlords, off Novicehood there
too. Yay me. Again, I left. Now I'm a Jester. I will admit, I did not
have to go through the Novice process here, but I did have to wait 5
months and I have to do complete probation. This doesn't bother me.

Now, onto the point I planned on making. Reading over the last few
posts, something Genki said caught my eye and it annoyed me greatly. I'm
sorry but just because a person is a Novice in a Guild, it DOESN'T mean
they don't know anything. They may NOT know a great deal about that
particular Guild, having only been in the Novice stage so far but I
think it's unfair, ignorant and down right stupid to assume just because
a person is a Novice, that they are somehow less superior or important
than anyone else in a Guild. I hate to break it to everyone, but without
Novices, your Guilds would soon dwindle. People get bored, they move on.
There's a ton of inactive characters that have been great Guild Leaders,
or one's that have moved on and if you're going to treat your Novices
like scum (Mhaldor excluded, it's a given), then you're not going to get
many more, which in turn means, when other people move on, you won't
even have a Guild. Basically, EVERYONE deserves respect. You either do
something to keep it, or you lose it completely. Everyone needs to STOP
being so damn hoity toity and remember, once, YOU were a Novice. Think
about it.

Penned by my hand on the 8th of Sarapin, in the year 356 AF.
