Shazara, you have made a point that has piqued my interest in this
matter of things.
Oakstone has it written that they are to protect the plants all around
the world, even within city walls. Very well, go ahead and protect them
if you wish. But you have no 'Jurisdiction' over them. If my mind
recalls correctly, Lady Demeter tried to extend Her 'Jurisdiction' into
Hashan, and failed horribly. Protect your plants all you want, but do
not ever jump to assume that you have any kind of leash around
Mhaldorians, just because they feel the need to exterminate in their own
backyard.
Lodi has also made a decent retort to your argument, to which you should
pay heed. Nature lives and dies, no matter where it resides. I, as a
follower of Lord Thoth, God of Death, would know that well enough. The
red fog kills plants, yes. Are you to say that plants do not die to
forest fires, extermination, and overharvesting as well? Plants will
live and die everywhere. There is no reason to say that the council of
Oakstone, or Lady Demeter, has any influence in Mhaldor, because of the
Necromancers we harbor, or the Red Fog that Lord Sartan has bestowed
upon us.
Your statements of 'Jurisdiction' are just that. Words written inside a
tree. They give you no authority, no power, no reason to treat Mhaldor
any different then you treat the other cities of Sapience. Come, defend
your plants. But only if you wish a similar fate as they have found.
