An apology...

Greetings, Sapience!,

Now that I can look back on the things I have done in my past, I realize
that I regret a lot of what I have done. The biggest thing that comes to
mind is the damage that I did to Cyrene and to the Order of Phaestus. I
raided the city, slew guards, and destroyed Shrines, all without a
second thought simply because I was told to. Then I realized that I was
nothing more than a slave, a puppet that Mhaldor could use to attain the
things they wanted. And then I decided that I was no longer going to be
such a slave, and that I would make my own judgments on what was correct
and what was not, rather than to have others tell me what is and isnt.

I have caused great harm to many during my life. I seek now to make
amends for my past and start anew. To the Cyrenians, I vow on my honour
as a Knight that I will not raise my blades against your city or any of
its denizens ever again. I seek now to serve your city in its defense,
in remorse for the damage I have caused.

To the Divine Order of Phaestus, I say that I am disgraced to have
attacked a Divine that is responsible for my own ability to craft items
from shapeless masses of iron and steel. Had I the ability, I would
personally raise Shrines to Lord Phaestus, two for every one that I have
defiled or destroyed. I will find a way, somehow, to repay you for the
damage that I have done. To Lord Phaestus Himself, ask what You would of
me, and I will seek to do what You ask. I offer You my humblest of
apologies, and hope that You can accept it.

To the City of Shallam, I cannot recall what I have done. I know that
the reason that I was enemied at first was for attacking a person in
your city that was under your protection. I cannot recall if I have been
involved in raids, and I am fairly certain that I have never defiled any
Shrines within your walls. My time as a Dark Knight is finished. I have
already vowed to never again use the power of Necromancy to assist me,
even for my own protection. To what I owe, I extend you my apologies. If
you have need of my service in the future, you have only need to ask. I
will do what I can to assist.

The times have changed. I shall change with them.

Adieu, Sapience,
Mahanaxar
