Why I feel sorry for you

First off I will say that for a portion of my life, I actually respected
you. I respected you because I hated you. You wanted that hatred. I knew
that then, and I know that now, and yet I still gave it to you. You did
work so very hard for it after all.
The day you made me hate you for the first time was a long time ago. It
was the day you betrayed the one group I hold above all others, the
Shadowsnakes. I can only guess at your reasons for you actions, but I
wouldnt be at all surprised if I were right. The day I am speaking of is
the day you saw fit to use the Shadowsnakes as nothing more than a
betting chip in a divine bet with Pentharian. I dont know what the bet
was, nor do I care. All I know is that you lost, and the prize was the
patronship of the Shadowsnakes. You may have done it because of the
ongoing debate in Ashtan over shrines for guild patrons being protected
under Ashtan law. You may have done it as an interesting way of telling
the guild you no longer wanted to be our patron. You may have done it
for both of those reasons. No matter what the reason, you managed to
make me hate you, and respect you for that one simple fact, all at the
same time.
The second and more recent reason I hated you stems from the harm you
caused to Pandoras brother. I am a follower of Pandora, and very few
things in this world are higher up on my list of importance than her and
her order. The harm you inflicted upon Pandemonium brought my old hatred
of you back to the surface, and enhanced it.
But now...
Now I no longer respect you. Now I no longer hate you. Now I pity you. I
pity you because you were too weak to even kill me yourself, instead you
paid pestilence a portion of your precious essence to do it for you. I
pity you because the words spoken by a simple mortal made you feel so
weak that you needed to turn him into a maggot to feel more powerful
than him. I pity you because even after that, the words of a maggot were
still strong enough to make you feel so weak that you needed to take
away his voice to feel strong. Finally, I pity you the most because the
words written here by a mute maggot will more than likely have enough
power over you to make you attempt to bring him even farther down to
make you feel powerful again.
