Banking made easy.

Ok, I know there are some of you that could not care less about the
subject. But then there are also those of you, that have been
frustrated by ending up with 19,992gp in your hands, rather than the
20,000gp you wanted, when getting money from our banks.

For those of you, that do want more control over your banking matters.
I have gone forth and solved the problem.

This is how simple it is:

(50*Y)/49 = X

Where "Y" is the amount you want, and "X" is the amount you need to
withdraw.

Now I know that some of you are not scholars, and don't know what
would translate to in practical terms, so here is what you have to do.

Step (1) Take the amount you want to end up with and
multiply it by 50.

Step (2) Take your result in step (1) and divide it by 49.

Step (3) Now take the amount you got in step (2) and round
it up to the nearest whole gold peace.

The result you get in step (3) is what you need to withdraw in order
to end up with what you want. Note, that you actually need this
amount to be in your account.

For example:

Step (1) You want to make a withdrawal that would leave you with
1000gp in your hands. Multiply that amount by 50.

1000 * 50 = 50000

Step (2) Now take your answer from step (1), and divide it by 49.

50000 / 49 = 1020.41

Step (3) Now take your answer from step (2), and round it UP to
the nearest whole gold peace.

1020.41 becomes 1021

Now you know that if you want to end up with 1000gp in your hands.
You need to withdraw 1021gp.

I'm sure some of you think that just multiplying what you want by 1.02
would work, and yes, for small amounts it does work. But the moment
you start withdrawing bigger amounts, you start getting problems.

I hope this helps some of you, and perhaps the gods would be so kind
as to place the above in that lovely scroll we refer to as:
HELP BANKING.

With Respect,
Druid Athelas.

PS. If there are any of you that would like to know how I got to this.
I would be more than glad to explain it. Just send me a message
and I'll write you a letter with all the details in it. If I find
that there are many that would like the explanation, I'll post it
here.
