While I doubt that Kaelin's offer will be accepted by the forestal
guilds as an appropriate means to solving said problem with grove space,
I would like to thank him for his hand in brain storming. Sadly, one of
my purposes is to keep the balance and health of Nature and our forests
in mind.
To Conor, I would like to ask him to yet again take time to consider. I
was quite happy to hear from both the Sylvans and the Druids, and was
delighted to find that there were more stringent requirements placed on
their novices before receiving groves. My only concern is that it is not
enough.
A few have called my plee selfish. To clear this issue up, I do not
store more than 200 of any herb at one time. As I am prone to allowing
my soul to sleep for periods of time, I would not think it fair to keep
the thousands that others gather within my possession. And what I have,
I give freely to friends, family and citymates. I do not profit off my
work, save the knowledge of helping those I love.
This is also in no way a strive to rebel against the forestal guilds and
their mandates. I was a druid for many years, I was also an member of
Oakstone. I follow proper harvesting laws, and try my best to remain
from overharvesting. When an accident occurs (and it is rare), I pay my
fine. I do not harm nature in any way, I patrol my own forest to make
sure everything is in working order. I tend my grove, which I've had
since I was 18, religiously.
I understand that without a grove, another skillset will be out of hand
for the little ones. I understand that. It was a joyous occasion for me
when I was younger to first imprint my grove, and I do not want to deny
anyone that right. But our population is growing. More novices lead to
more imprints, to more forest rooms being filled, with less rooms to
harvest forestal herbs. Further down the road, this leads to more able
to harvest. Even if the percent of those who make it that far does not
change, the number will still be greater due to the amounts of people
that have managed to find our lands.
I merely beg to forestals to look at this before it becomes a problem.
Groves are indeed reclaimed by Nature when a soul becomes dormant, but
when there are large crowds of little ones looking for a place in the
forests, it does not make much difference.
To allow them this right, this privledge that many of us hold so sacred
is to, if things continue on the same corse, eventually hinder our
abilities to harvest, which is a skill many of have worked very hard to
earn the right to use. Our right to theirs. It does sound rather harsh,
but it is what needs to be looked upon.
I do not want to see forestal rooms stripped by desprate forestals
looking for elm or ginseng. I do not want to see groves raped by other
forestals because the forests teem with filled groves. I do not want to
see something as simple as myrrh costing more than 100 gold, like kola.
I want what is best for the forests, I want what is best for the
forestals, and what is best for those who use herbs.
This is all I ask. Thank you.
