I was amused enough by your last post to comment here, but I will be
brief.

I completely agree. Forcing someone (or attempting to force someone) to
give you their rings, scabbards, lilies, etc. clearly isn't an attempt
at theft. You simply wanted a closer look before you returned the items
with your apologies for the inconvenience, and sent the poor soul on
their merry way. Your piety, forthrightness and honour are astounding,
Lady Priest.
