Rogues

Greetings Sapience
Molotov has begun a topic at last i feel i can offer a half decent view
on. It is a blessing in this land that we are able to strive to achieve
many different roles and lives for ourselves. It is a further blessing
that many of us are actually able with a little hard work to achieve
what it is we want with our lives. However it seems that in this modern
age people are squandering this ability. Forsaking their own chance to
carve a name for themselves in a what they believe is a "happy" life of
nothingness. It is unknown to me how most rogues (not all i will agree)
can happily live out their lives with no actual definition or ideal to
strive for. I may be wrong and i welcome others opinions but where a
Dawnstrider or a Naga strive to achieve goals and make a name for
themselves in that ideal where and how does the rogue snake with nothing
to work for show their true worth?

Few actually know my past but over the years ive been a Paladin, Druid,
Paladin, Shaman and finally Paladin again. Never a rogue. The reason
why? Ive always made sure ive had a goal to work for, ive always been
attempting to make myself known and define myself within the role i
tried to create for myself in my current profession. When i went shaman
there were a great deal of reasons behind the change. A large one being
my attempt to become closer to my lord Phaestus as i began a path of
becoming a cleric to him. I could easily have done this as a paladin or
as a rogue yet i believed i could define this role better as a shaman so
took that course. Going rogue can be the correct choice for many
reasons. It can allow you to take stock of yourself and redefine who you
are but there are rare cases where it should become a life. Too many
today see this as the easy road however the easy road very little
provides the greatest rewards. Thats just my view on those that choose
to stay rogue for extended periods of time. Im sure others have very
different views so go on and post. Ill leave you with one thought that i
think is relevant here. He who stands for nothing falls for everything.

These have been the random thoughts of an old dwarf.

Penned by my hand on the 7th of Phaestian, in the year 336 AF.
