Ugh, I can't afford to post cuz of credit prices!
Just kidding, anyway, no one is debating that credits shouldn't be worth
a lot of gold because you pay real money. Sarapis's point about not
allowing MOBs to sell credits is, obviously, valid. I'm sure He's
thought about this quite a bit more than we all have.
My point is not that credits are stupid, they should be removed, yada
yada. I realize the people who buy keep Achaea running. That's just the
truth of the world. Nothing is free. And if it is, its cuz those with
wealth support it. Except in a socialist society, where everyone is poor
because you have state-sponsored programs that are inherintly
inefficient and useless and ... I'm getting off onto a tangent.
My point is this. Look, if you parallel Achaea to the other realm, then
we would consider the credit buyers the Rich and Priveledged. We'd
consider the heavy bashers, succesful shopkeeps and thieves, artists and
bards, and that sort of thing the middle class.
We'd consider socializers, non-fighters, non-bashers, or poor-bashers
and what not, the poor class.
We assume the Upper (rich) always sell credits, we assume the Middle
buys heavily, and we'll assume the lower (poor) buy credits
occasionally.
Obviously there are some in betweens, but that doesn't really matter to
visualize this.
Now, we all know the rich want to get richer. Obviously, they're going
to want to sell high.
We know the middle and lower class both want credits to be lower in
value, since they always buy.
Now, credit reselling is NOT a very good source of money. YOu really
make pennies on the dollar (whatever pennies and dollars are) when you
resell. Its not really a strong profit. Well, it is now more than
lately, but still its nothing compared to actually buying them. So the
rich lack motivation to inflate prices buy constantly buying low and
selling high, unless they're scheming against us.
Now, the middle tend to know the value of a credit, since bashers like
myself buy constantly. We want to buy a few dozen credits every week so
we can kill bigger, badder mobs and what not. So we tend to not want to
screw ourselves over this way. There are plenty of exceptions
That leaves the lower class. This class tends screw over itself, and the
middle class, buy taking advantage of the relatively small profit they
make by reselling. When someone brags about making a few thousand gold
reselling, its always some girl 10% my might that's always flirting with
every single guy on that channel I always have off. You know who I'm
talking about. You know this person. We all know this person.
This person is not a person, but many people, and you want to kick their
teeth in.
And its these people that are hurting the middle and lower class. The
consumers. Now then, obviously Sarapis doesn't want credits selling for
200 a piece. And really, whether you want to admit it or not, you don't
either. Having staff around all the time is pretty cool, except when I'm
issued, or shout something ooc like a dummy.
But what I am saying is that, you're basically hurting yourself. You're
like that person that vandalizes everything they see, and then complains
about not having nice things. You need to realize that your actions hurt
yourself. so you buy 10 credits for 2k and sell them for 2.6k, you made
6k BIIIG WHOOP. But you also influenced a market into saying "hey, I can
sell for 2.6k because there aren't enough 2k credits to go around."
You're just hurting yourself. 6k is nothing to most people, the only
people its significant to are the people that suffer when credits are
expensive.
So, my list of practical solutions. I didn't really think of any before
I started to write, so I'll try to wing it. I don't like complaining
about a "problem" without offering a "solution." Its ignorant.
Number 1, No lowering your credit price by 1 gold just to beat the
person above you. Its lame. (that won't really help but it just bothers
me)
Number 2 don't resell city/guild credits
Number 3: if you see credits really cheap on credit market, send me a
tell IMMEDIATELY. (like 2.2k or less). If I'm not on, buy them and
transfer them to me. Seriously though, don't buy and then sell for more.
Buying from creditmarket and then selling on credit market is SOOOOO
LAME.
Number 4: if your friend is caught doing 1, 2, or 3, thwap him, and then
shout what a loser he is, and then hire like 5 assassins on him.
