A saddened soul

In my recent adventures in this fair land, I became ailed and as
I went to my pillbelt for an antidote, I was shocked to it wasn't
there. In fact I soon realized I was in the nude, stripped of all
possessions. I enquired my fellow guildmates, and they said the
same strange misfortune had befallen them. So I went to the gypsy
along the road in search of answers.
I was shocked when she explained to be that these things had been
done by the divinities. "Surely not!" I begged of her, "These beings
I had once held with such awe, and respect." But the old lady
comforted me, "Do not be saddened my friend, it is like the divinities
to act in such a way, they become jealous and vengeful, as any mortal
would and act out of rage." Much worse off than when I had arrived
I left, still doubting the old woman's babbling.
Surely these things she told me were not true, and the divinities
are in fact more virtous than us. Incomprehensible in their
wisdom and incapable of such a deed. I can only hope that when
I visit the old gypsy again, she has better tidings to tell me.
