Indeed, who does care? I was merle pointing out the flaws in Mandrexs'
logic as he seemed to be under the illusion that Ashtan was some kind of
utopia. Nothing made by mortal hands can ever be 'perfect'.

From your own mouth you state that Ashtan doesn't care about many of its
populace. Poverty is an oppressive force, is it not? How can any city
truly call itself the City of Freedom if it does not give a damne about
a large portion of its citizens? About the oppression of its citizens?

Yes problems can be solved, yet I was practically chased out of Ashtan
for proposing a solution to the said problem many years ago.

The difference bitween Mhaldor and Ashtan, is that Mhaldor is honest
about what it stands for.

A child learns threw its mistakes, as does mortality. And yet, the story
you used to illustrate your point would be more suited as a fable
telling the world about the ignorance of mortals. The Divine are there
to teach us, 'tis only the arrogance and stupidity of mortals that stops
Them from doing this. As it is due to the child's stupidity that it got
burnt, because it did not listen to its parents. But it will burn itself
again unless its mother watches over it closely, as it may have learnt
that the stove is hot but it does not mean that it has learnt what is
needed to avoid getting burnt wen around it. Everyone still burns
themselves from time to time.

But what sort of mother lets her child play on the busy highways so that
it will learn not to? What sort of mother lets her child jump from a
third story window so it will learn not to? What sort of mother lets her
toddler down a bottle of tequila so it will learn not to? A burn is a
minor thing and is necessary in the learning process of youth, as it
teaches the child to learn from its mistakes. But, when the stakes are
raised, when the situation is important enough, the parent will
forcefully interviean to ensure their child is not hurt.

In Mhaldor all are given the chance to learn for themselves, to think
for themselves, to develop apon their own chosen paths in life. But when
it comes to a major thing such as the governing of a city we understand
the need for Divine perfection, there can be no room for error.
