Yes, in Ashtan live beggars drunkards and other poor people. Such
poverty reside only in Ashtan you said ? Well if I remember correctly
Mhaldor's slaves are not quite wealthy unless whip's scars are the
latest Mhaldorian currency. I don't see much difference beside the fact
you don't consider your slaves as members of your city.
The point to my post was not to debate some pointlessly aspects of a
city life. Who care about your slaves or about poors anyway : you, I, or
the Church ? Noone ever cared about them or they would have done
something already : slaves can be set free, gold can be given to the
poors, harlots can be trained into courtesans or be used as raw
material, every problem has a solution.
However why would you rely on Divine to rule your existence. Yes mortals
are unperfect, less knowledgeable and not as wise. But remember, how did
you learn to not put your hand on a stove while your mother (or slave)
is cooking ? Not by listening to your parents who are more knowledgeable
or wiser than you little child, you learned it the hard way after
burning your hand like every children. Our own experience and knowledge
or wisdom can be built and grow.
Who would prefer to forsake Ayar's gift of free will for a happy and
harmless existence of mindless doll. Oh yes you can be harmed, hurt or
even killed by doing mistake. But past experience, knowledge and wisdom
has its price. That is all what karma is about.
