Padrons body was not severed from his soul as he was there fully, he was
-not- dead. He had obviously been daydreaming and not realised what was
happening right then before him. He was fully there, had his body and
soul been seperated, he would have been dead.

I have not once stated it was something nearly impossible to accomplish,
infact, it's quite amazing how simply easy it was. As the previous post
stated, you are correct, near anyone could have done it.
