The mind of a thief

Why does a thief steal? Is it for the goods? Hardly. Lets face it. A
thief has the skills to aquire said goods in a more legal manner if they
have the ability to steal from someone. Some would say its just because
they are a jerk. Well, while this may be true, it hardly explains the
why. So why? Its actually very simple. A thief enjoys the thrill of it.
Its like a drug. Each new robbery gives them a taste of feeling power,
the thrill of invoking emotion, and of course the thrill of the hunt.
Now people may ask Kryvar, why if this is the case did you post what you
post drawing attention to Rinoa's latest caper and giving her what she
wanted? Because I wanted everyone to see how the game works and see the
entire side of the story. Look at Rinoa's reasons, feeble as they may
be, as to why she did what she did. She harbors a hatred of Hashan. Why?
Well because obviously we wronged her by making her a perma enemy of the
city after we got fed up with her robbing, stealing, and killing people
within our walls. Shame on us. She harbors a hatred of the Kharon
because they did something similar. See, somehow this is our fault. Its
never hers. We, the world, are to blame for actually telling her she
can't do something.
I have not attacked the Shadowsnakes. Quite the contrary. I have simply
pointed out to them the mind of their leader. Because rest assured after
the smoke clears from this wonderful robbery... and indeed well done on
stealing from a souless person, I'm sure it did take you years to plan
such a thing... that Rinoa will feel the need to look for a greater
robbery. And after that a greater one. Its simply the cycle of such
things. And the more shock involved, the better. Any organization that
puts such a single minded, obsessive, delusional person in to any form
of power needs to be aware of the consequences. And if you think she
would never do that to you, consider Valnurana. When Silvaria stole the
money from your guild it was Lady Valnurana who did everything in Her
power to help the guild out and make Silvaria pay. She did this not
simply because she was the Shadowsnake Patron, but because she honestly
loved and wanted to help the guild. Rinoa saw this. Saw how much the
theft hurt Her. And how does Rinoa repay Her for Her kindness? Puts Her
through it all over again because of her own petty feelings of
vengeance. But Valnurana is no longer our Patron. True. I suppose you
can simply explain away everything as you like. Just as you did when you
put Silvaria in a secretary slot. She'd never do that to us, just other
people.
Darknight, my old, old friend. I see you haven't changed. Darknight
knows me well. It is I who pointed out to Shallam just how truely
trustworthy he was. It of course fell on deaf ears. Not once, but twice
interestingly enough. Some things never change.
