First off, let me say to Saruman that your post was well composed and
well worth the read and thought. Secondly, let me say to Khoraji that
your post was likewise well composed and worth the read and thought.
After reading both of these posts (10741 and 10742 respectively) I
decided to do some thinking and figure out where I stand in the world. I
thought of my past, present, and future. The conclusion I came to was
this. Both of you are right.
My reasoning behind this statement is this. One must live within the
confines of one's own morals. I am a rogue monk. I choose this path. I
also choose to live without citizenship. I try to live more along the
side of "good" as opposed to evil, but I cannot truely live on one side
or the other. I was Sentaari.
The Sentaari have become a completely different guild from when I was a
novice. (Don't worry, the relevance of this will come to light soon.)
When I was a novice we strived for Wisdom, Balance, and Individualism.
The later has been redefined in the Sentaari as they are no longer a
guild of balance, but now a guild of benevolence. I try to be a fairly
benevolent man myself at times. That is my choice. And yet I do not live
in the confines of morals. I live in the confines of my choices.
That is true individualism. I know some of you have given up on true
individualism due to the guild that you have joined and the path of life
you have chosen, it was your choice. Whether you strive towards "good",
or strive towards "evil" I will personally support you.
I believe in the force of balance with all my soul. You cannot have good
without evil, but they must be balanced. Too much good is a bad thing,
and the same is true for evil.
I have personally met Khoraji on the field of battle through a spar.
This may shock people considering where Khoraji hails from, but he is
one of the most honourable people I have met.
How can he be honourable, he serves Sartan? Simple, he follows his heart
and as such has come into service for Sartan. I do not look poorly on
anyone be they Shalamese or Mhaldorian. When you look at everything that
is happening in Sapience that we mortals know about, how can you bicker?
But I transgress. The point is everyone does have thier own form of
morals and beliefs. There is no one way to define morals as what is
morally correct for a Paladin is far from morally correct for a
Maldaathi. The essence of who we are lies in the choice of who we wish
to be. There should be no forcing others to your way of life because you
disagree with them. There should be balance.
With that being said, though it may be confusing to some. I shall set
the quill down.
Faithfully,
Lizara Darkthorne
