This and that

In the course of my admittedly brief stay as an Apostate, there was one
question I had to ask me self several times, most often towards the
extreme end of my time there. It was "Can Detritus truly be that
ignorant, dense, or unobservant?"
I'm now glad to say that I know the answer to that question. Why, yes,
he most certainly can.
Unless you're actually as unintelligent as you look, you had to know
what the reaction of the Eleusians was going to be. They weren't going
to allow a congregation in the honor of Lord Sartan, nor for you to
preach his Truths. And why should they? Evil has warred with the forests
for more years than I have been around to see. When your Lord was
entombed in the stone, the red mists began to spread and destroy
forests. The groves exterminated by His followers are beyond counting.
What reason does Eleusis have to allow your preaching?
I know, they should allow it because they're neutral! It's the duty of
all good and peaceful people to allow Evil to run rampant in their
lands!
I've got news for you. Neutrality doesn't mean that you're a doormat for
the world. (Well, except in the case of Hashan, but let's not talk about
that) Neutrality, in this sense, is that they will not take an organized
stand unless provoked to action. Which, in my most un-humble opinion,
Mhaldor has certainly managed to do. I'm tired of hearing you babble on
about how these "Good" "Righteous" and "Neutral" peoples are going
against everything they stand for whenever they have the indecency to
take an agressive action against you. One may say that it is the duty of
those who are Good to oppose those who are Evil. In which case a raid on
the Library of the Priesthood of the Lord of Evil is probably a good
thing, an action to be praised by those who are of like mind.
Regardless, that wasn't a raid, so much as educational visit. They asked
the ranking Apostate at the time if they could gain entry to the
Guildhall and Library, as they wished to view the books therein. As I
know your will and need to spread the word of the Lord, I agreed that
they had made a reasonable request, and I granted them entry
Now that I've told the rest of the world what I said, I'll phrase it in
words small enough to be sure that you comprehend what I've taught you
here.
If a person takes an action against you, it does not mean that they are
going against their ideals. It usually means that they are acting in
accord with their ideals, which, hard as this may be for you to grasp,
are different from yours.
You knew what Eleusis was going to do about your visit. You know it, I
know it, and they know it. Stop your bitching for attention.
Take care, and learn well.
