Tevric has just deceived me and stolen 5500 gold from me. The method he
used is more devious than any that Sarapis could provide for through the
various guild abilities. Not only was it disgustingly dishonourable, it
was also bad roleplay.

He first claimed to have 100 bloodroot for sale. Then he claimed to be a
sentinel. I met him at NoT to buy his bloodroot, and I asked him to
reject grace first before I gave him my gold. He emoted the action, and
I gave him the gold. He then walked away.

It should be obvious why this is bad roleplay. An emote is meant to act
out something that is really happening. There is no reason ever to emote
rejecting grace because Sarapis has provided a very simple command for
that. Now you can laugh at me for being fooled, and some of you will do
that. However, I hope some of you will benefit from this. If someone
rejects grace, check their honours before you continue.

And to you, Tevric, what a small payoff for making a lifelong enemy. You
could have stolen so much more.

Karuxal Vitry

Penned by my hand on the 16th of Phaestian, in the year 323 AF.
