Dear Llewellyn,
As the founder of the Jesters, I believe that you deserve an answer to
the theories you so verbosely presented on this forum. My answer will be
brief, and concerns only the portion of your post directed at me.
I am completely indifferent to your presence in the guild at all, which
is to say that were you a member, I would have no specific problem with
that. I did file a complaint with the Guildmaster about your actions in
inguilding Ximili. There is a specific protocol for the initiation of
new members. Additionally, there is generally consultation when
inducting controversial members of the community, especially if their
presence may be detrimental to the guild. The Llewellyn I remember
consulted with the secretariat often on issues, making an effort to
assuage fears and create compromise. The Llewellyn who inguilded a
person who has been repeatedly shrubbed for violations of the rules
pulled rank on the current secretariat, generally indifferent to their
thoughts and opinions to bring his buddy into the guild.
I felt slapped in the face by your actions, and called you on it. The
response I received was contrite, and generally disrespectful. I
appreciate the role you had as founder of the guild, as well as you
adherence to the vision instilled by Silvestri in his month long tenure.
In your time as guildmaster, I always felt I had your respect, despite
my place as a dissenting member of the secretariat when the guild's
membership leaned towards your home town. The answers I received told me
little, but the fashion in which I was answered spoke volumes. I
appreciate your point of view, and believe it is in line with your
vision for the guild. Had I been fully congniscent of it, I might have
pushed much harder for the guild to be mine from the outset, and saved
us all the trouble.
You can denounce the way I have done my job. In truth, since you left,
it was a job I did unwillingly. When you resigned, I quit as secretary,
so great was my loyalty to you. In fact I was prepared to quit the guild
for you at that juncture. However a strange thing happened that
prevented me from doing so: I opened my eyes to see the guild
flourishing, not faltering under the careful guidance of Callianessa and
her staff. The guild was different than it was under you, and we enjoyed
great prosperity during your tenure. However the makeup of the guild,
and its members has changed significantly since then. At any rate, my
current role with the guild is Secretary of Defense, and since the
departure of our head of novices I have assumed full secretarial duties
again. The guild policy has on membership related security has changed
since your time as well. Though I feel the diversity you fostered
brought a great deal of good, it also brought with it a rash of
individuals who abused both PK skills and Sapience as a whole. You felt
obligated by your vision to take these people, and I respect your
actions in a difficult situation. However as the guild has changed, I am
telling you, and Sapience that I would be staunchly opposed to taking,
under any circumstances. Members of the other guilds of Sapience may or
may not have a similar policy, and that list is short. Though not in
line with your old vision, this is the policy of the current
administration.
So that is the synopsis of my actions. I still appreciate what you did
for the guild, but the guild has changed. I fully support Callianessa
and the Secretariat, and apologize for further clogging this forum with
information generally irrelavent to their existence.
