THE POWER OF FAITH IN THE FACE OF EVIL

Without Faith there are times when life makes no sense at all.
Without Principles there are times we second-guess and question
ourselves.
Without Reason adn Purpose, life is just an endless road without a
destination.
An open-minded person would LISTEN instead of HEAR what people have to
say and reply accordingly. This expands their knowledge and
understanding. A narrow minded person would HEAR but not LISTEN to what
people say, They would then reply accordingly. This will only make them
believe more strongly on their own beliefs or opinions...
We must be willing to stand in the face of evil, to have the courage to
always face danger. The Children of Aegis have shown these qualities to
the world on many occasions, as have many Children of other Gods in the
Garden. We have known Sartans cruel oppression and withstood it. You,
Lord of Evil, were held captive by the world once. And because we have
paid the costs of your evils and your evil ways, we know, understand and
will unite again, if necessarry under the common value of our freedoms.
Our alliance of freedom is being tested again by Sartan and his
followers, most recently with their threat to burn the forest, like the
Infernals before them. They seek to end lives and control all life. And
like the Infernals before them, they will be opposed by free minds and
hearts, They will again be defeated.
Sartan's work opposes the rest of the Gods in the garden, and opposes
all that is good at every turn, imprisoning people in evil, destroying
people's lives, destroying relationships, and bringing about distrust,
hatred, and bitterness. I will oppose this at every turn. Now, how can a
mere mortal do this? Well, I simply proclaimed truth in the face of
lies. I have driven out his demons. I have attacked His evil words and
actions and I have slain his assassins. And all this alongside many of
you, the peoples of Sapience.
One purpose of salt is to arrest putrefaction; in other words, to
preserve meat and in this case to preserve the soul from decaying and
rotting. Salt, as you know, can be rubbed into fish, lamb and beef. It
is rubbed in to keep it good, to make it last. Salt is the most common
preservative. It is used to keep things from going bad. It is used to
keep things fresh. Sartan has chosen me to focus his evil on for now,
but in doing so, failed to recognize the salt of the faith rubbed upon
my spirit, preserving my soul from him. You too, people of Sapience, are
the salt of the world. For within you lies the truth. Seek it out.
Embrace it. It will preserve you as it has me - even in the body Sartan
had placed me - as a maggot.
I know that you all know how to cook a frog; it's an old illustration.
You don't just pitch him in boiling water because he'll jump right out.
No, you put him in a pot of cool water and gradually you raise the heat
to a boil and he'll never realize he's being cooked. If you would ever
want to cook a frog, that's how you do it, and I'm sure someone here has
done this at some point. Our society is like that pot of water. The
temperature is rising all the time as society becomes more corrupt by
Sartan and his evils. Are you just going to sit by, oblivious? Or are
you going to take the offensive against evil?
You and I are going to be encountering things in our own little world
that are wrong. Now, are we going to be the sort of peoples that just
sing praises and meet in our little groups, as important as they are? Or
are we going to steel our minds and wills and take action as we've been
called to oppose, to resist things that are wrong, to be a people who
charge the gates of Mhaldor. Don't be too timid to let people know where
you stand on things. Be involved. Speak out. Be bold. Sometimes the only
appropriate action is just to fast and pray, but other times we're to be
outraged and galvanized into action.
I believe these are one of these times. I was made a maggot, but
obviously my words were still dangerous in the eyes of Sartan as I spoke
more truths, he spoke of sending minion after minion to assassinate me
from the fear and "injury" of my words to him and his. I expect much
more from my Lord than I would a mortal.
And for an immortal to be "insulted" by the words of a mortal and
punishes him as a maggot (which I could readily accept for my beliefs) I
can see as fair and just punishment. But to then send minion after
minion to assassinate the one he has handicapped shows a lack of
confidence in his order and his "warriors". If such actions were to pass
by the hands of a mortal, I would call him weak and immature, with a
severe insecurity complex, but it is beyond my place as a mortal to cast
such judgments on a God.
The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who remain neutral in
a time of great moral crisis." Will you resist evil? If not you, then
who? If not here, then where? If not now, then when? I'm only one, but
I'm still one. I can't do everything, but I can do something. What I can
do, I ought to do. And what I ought to do, by the grace of the Gods, I
will do. Gods of Sapience, I beseech you to help us your children not to
do otherwise.
In our determination to secure justice in the face of evil, we have been
greatly blessed in the past by the sustained commitment and
extraordinary contributions of the world community. As peoples of faith,
of whatever religious tradition, we need to continue to work hard to
overcome fragmentation and promote mutual understanding. All too often,
religion has been co-opted by narrow minded interests and used to
justify tragic conflicts.
You that are an unethical company I will certainly make a note of in my
quest. I will let everyone know about your unethical conduct. This is
not because of vengeance but because I know too well when free speech is
curtailed the abuse will know no end. Let everyone know of your policies
so no other mortal shall become a victim of your lack of judgment and
unethical conduct.
Now the question is peoples of Sapience: Are you attacking or
acquiescing? Are you resisting or offering no resistance whatsoever?
A wise man once said that it is a crime to stay silent in the face of
evil, for Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance Shine in the Face of Evil.
I will not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil will I with a grain of
salt.
