Shop Tax Amendment in Shallam

Greetings Sapience,

This post will no doubt interest those who currently have a stake in the
shops in Shallam and also to those who are eyeing shops in our fair
city.

The past 3 years has seen an increase in taxes owing to a study the
Chancellary has conducted. In a bid to liberalise the local market, we
reasoned that a tax hike will actually persuade shopkeepers who cannot
bear the higher fixed costs to float their shops on the market.
Likewise, we felt that the higher fixed costs owing to the tax hike will
actually dissuade a portion of the buyers from eyeing shops in Shallam.

While this might undoubtedly have dissuaded a good number of buyers from
wishing to own a shop in Shallam, the tax hike has not affected any of
our shopkeepers in anyway. Owing to this, the Chancellary of Shallam has
hence decided to forego our current tax rate and to reimplement a new
one.

Previously, shops in Shallam face a tax rate ranging from 6.5 grand to 9
grand. This has been lowered to 6 grand to 7.5 grand. The new tax rate
now places Shallam at a comparable position towards the other cities in
Sapience.

Thank you for your consideration.

Vizier of Shallam,
Walter Weltsdown, Bloodsworn
