I have witnessed wars as well as peace, looked at the Good as well as
the Evil and what I have seen in these things is Chaos. I am not
speaking of the chaotic but of chaos itself or rather the perception of
chaos and how little it can actually be understood or comprehended.
Most agree that war is very chaotic, with the battles on the field,
swinging of swords and casting of magic in a frenzy display to survive
and to win. War is also organized in its tactics, maneuvers and plans to
attempt to win the battles. When viewing a battle from afar you can not
help but awe at its beauty and grace, orderly in its precision, however,
when you are within the battle itself you are enthralled within its
frenzy, its chaotic, fast paced, unthinking actions. It depends on how
you are viewing this battle whether you see its order or its disorder,
its perception if you will.
Some say that something chaotic is fundamental to chaos and that order
is the opposite of this chaos but how can this be when in wars and
battles you can see both depending on your view. Order is the opposite
of disorder not chaos, just as light is the opposite of darkness not
shadow, as evil is the opposite of good not righteousness. Chaos is not
a path to take like evil, good, light or dark but rather the cohesion of
all paths. Perception is the foundation of Chaos as is shown in wars.
I shall use a analogy to show more of a understanding of Chaos. The
ground we walk on is chaos, upon that ground are paths one creates
according to their view of the world, a path towards a set goal or
belief. As one walks these paths they gain more distance in belief that
created the path, your perception of that path changes with each step
taken. If you decide to step off the path you are on and walk on another
path does it make your previous path non existent? No, it has only
changed to you because of your new perception, or new view from the path
you are now on. What if you decided to not take another path but instead
just walked on the open ground, chaos? In doing so do you not create a
whole new path? This new path may be weak and not easily seen but if
others decided to follow you and walk on the path you just created then
surly in time it shall become prominent and as visible as any other
path.
Chaos is the ground these paths are built upon, it is the building
blocks of ideas and creativity. The student of Chaos doesnt just see one
path, they are not blinded nor bound to a single idea or thought. The
good most times shall see those who open their minds to the
possibilities of all as evil, without faith or purpose. The evil tend to
see them as undisciplined and without direction, and both tend to see
them as untrustworthy and unloyal. To their perceptions I guess this is
somewhat true for these students of chaos are the creators of their own
realities, they walk on all paths and create new ones as they see fit.
Students of chaos learn how to view different possibilities that may
occur and in doing so shall tend to appear unselfish and giving but what
they do they do for reasons all their own, they shall sacrifice much in
the understanding that the possible rewards in the distant future can be
great. These students can be the most loyal of companions as long as
they see some benefit in being so but once betrayed or when they see
there is more harm done then a benefit to themselves they tend to just
go in a different direction that is more beneficial or even attempt to
change what they see harmful within a organization if they see that such
a change can be a benefit and a possibility. Attempting to restrict,
confine, or mold their thinking only makes them more determined to keep
their free will. I guess you can say that their main goal is freedom,
freedom of thought, freedom of will, freedom of action with the
understanding of the possible consequences of that freedom, be them good
or bad.
