Letting go of things

For the uninitiated, there lies within the Dreamrealms an entity called
the Green Men or Satre. They are a collection of spirits who have been
around since almost the very beginning. Ancient, wise, and kind they
are. This eve I traveled back to their grove to apologize for the
behavior of those that we dreamers brought there. Satre let us into his
grove and those who were his guest did little more than bicker and bring
uninvited guests along. Rest assured it will be a very long time before
we dreamers will take fools such as these into this area again.
As I sat and talked with them, they made me realize that the actions
that I saw were indicitive of the problems facing the forests. The woods
grow with nurturing soil, plentiful sunlight (save Darkenwood), and
cleansing rain. The current climate in the woods is far from this.
Bickering, long held hatreds, and holding onto what was once Nature but
now is no longer is. Satre indicated that only when the children of the
woods were able to look beyond themselves and see the true wellbeing of
the woods would the Guardian come. The forests are about balance. It is
both calm and savage. Beautiful and ugly. Some of it smells
wonderful...and some of it smells like a wet moose. For the good of the
forest does not mean "good" in an alignment sense. It means that there
needs to be a healthy balance for it to survive. Rain is great. Trees
love it. 48 inches of rain in 12 hours however would not be good. That
gets you massive erosion, toppled trees, and more smelly
mooses...moosi...whatever.
The main thing here is as the cycle of the Nature comes full circle once
more you must let go of the previous cycle and all its trappings. And
that means that Gaia is no longer Nature. She's gone. She is a tale to
tell grandchildren on your knee and nothing more. Yes thats cruel, but
thats the nature of the beast at this point. The Guardian will not be
Gaia. She will accept Gaia's role but that is where the comparisons
stop. Let Gaia go.
As for the rest, the longer you hold onto petty differences that were
born before many of us were even alive, longer the cycle will take from
being complete. Satre asked if you knew what you were doing. Many of you
don't understand yet what he meant. By calling the Guardian, you begin a
new cycle. Things will never be the same again. You are not simply
calling up Gaia's replacement. You are calling up an entity that
sacrificed Her freedom for the betterment of Nature. Who amongst you
will now sacrifice less? Your lives? Your lives are meaningless to
Nature. Life and death revolve around the wheel constantly. Please do
not cheapen Nature's role by offering that. Give up something
worthwhile. End the cycle just as She did those many years before. Or
continue the cycle as is. Your choice.
