Credit Purchasing

You should all be aware of the incident one of our young members had
with Sieta and Serthest recently - but just a quick recap to explain why
you need to be careful when purchasing credits from others.
Even though you can now buy credits from a player, for a predetermined
amount of gold with an assurance that they cannot cheat you out of
credits, theft relating to credit sales is still very possible. It is
necessary to have the amount of gold out of your pack that you wish to
purchase credits with in order to allow the transfer to take place. This
means that people such as Sieta and Serthest, as they have recently
shown, can manipulate a situation in order to set up a viable theft
target.
Sieta told Jinxsta that she would sell him 23 credits at 2k per, for a
total of 46k.. now, Jinxsta was sitting in Shallam I believe, playing
blackjack or something. Sieta told him she was ready for the transfer
and he got 46k out of his pack (keep in mind he also has an amount of
gold out for gambling). Immediately after he got the gold from his pack,
Serthest hypno'd him into handing over exactly 46k, not just 'give gold
to Serthest' because Jinxsta was still holding the gold he'd been
playing blackjack with, but the exact amount Jinxsta got out for the
credits. Sieta also set up the actual transfer so that only 2 credits
would be transferred for 46k should Jinxsta agree to the deal, she never
had -any- intention of selling Jinxsta the credits - the entire thing
was a means of setting up a young member of ours, that they knew
probably wouldn't hit back, just so that he would have gold out of his
pack which Serthest was capable of stealing.
If you are going to purchase credits from someone, it is definately best
for you to do so in a safe environment. An area behind closed doors -
even flying might make things a little safer. Anyhow, I've added a note
about this kind of situation to guildhelp theft, please just be aware
that it is a possibility.
