In lieu of recent events I thought it might be necessary to ask you all
to take a moment, just -one- moment to hear me out on this matter. Have
any of you stopped to think, and I mean -actually- stopped to think how
much of an effect suicide has on everyone you're associated with? For
those of you who don't know me I just lost my mother to this recently.
This has done numerous things. For one, it shattered me personally and
left me in a wreck. Aside from my own feelings I had to watch everyone
around me get hurt as well whether it was due to my mother's death and
their friendship with her, or due to their friendship with me and their
heartfelt sorrow for my own sadness. You see, your suicide doesn't only
have an affect on those directly associated with you, there's a
neverending chain reaction.
Believe it or not there ARE people who care about you. For every action
there is reaction, there are concequences for every decision. PLEASE,
I'm begging all of you. Please take the time to seriously consider the
many people your death will have an affect on BEFORE you type that seven
letter word. I cannot stress this subject enough. Suiciding may be an
easy out for your pain and for all it's worth then hell ... why not,
what do you care - you won't be around to watch everyone shed tears over
their loss just because you were selfish. Yes, that's right, selfish.
Now I'm willing to be a lot of you are gasping right now or saying 'I
can't believe she's being so harsh' but think about it for a minute will
you? It -hurts- more than any physical death to lose a loved one. There
are people who care for you and love you. Talk to people, ask for help,
ask for a shoulder to cry on, do whatever it takes but please don't up
be so hasty to suicide. Again, it may make you feel better and you may
be able to cope, but just to satisfy your depression ask yourself, "Am I
really willing to kill myself to make everything better, knowing full
well that instead of just me not being completely happy, I'll leave a
sea of people in my wake shedding tears of mourning for me." Could you
honesty be selfish enough to do that?
All I'm asking you is not to end things so quicky when the going gets
rough. Guess what, I'm going to let you in on a secret ... ready? Life's
not all a bed of roses but if you want the roses, you have to be willing
to risk getting pricked by the thorns. Is it gonna hurt? Very much, but
the pain is temporary, you'll live and then you'll learn to be more
careful about that specific thorn later (or at least that's the goal.)
I can't make you all stop and not suicide, but I'm hoping that this had
at least -some- affect on someone out there. If I could spare just one
person the pain I've gone through, then I've fulfilled what I wished.
I'm merely asking you to think before you act, no more no less.
Sincerely,
~Taalaura Vallah
