Poetry News Post #870

Something I wrote. No title.

Written by: Darryl Winterhart, Ward of Nature
Date: Thursday, October 11th, 2001
Addressed to: Violet, Seksay Wildflower of Destiny

I cannot leave behind the remembrance of when we were younger.
Freely, I gave of myself to you; you gave of yourself to me.
Loudly, freedom and love in our hearts thundered; our hearts with fear
were filled.
To surrender myself, even my soul, in your behalf I gladly charged to
do.
Though foolish, due to my lack of experience, I knew that I loved you.
Your eyes, your hair, your smile, your face.
Your presence, your touch, your warm embrace.
Everything about you, all that makes you who you are.
You've caught my eye, my thoughts, my heart.
All I am belongs to you; from now on this shall be true.
I cannot and will not give myself to any other.
From now on I'm yours, just yours, always yours.

Penned by my hand on the 10th of Mayan, in the year 288 AF.
