Poetry News Post #837

Look through the eyes in which you wish to gaze

Written by: Opportunist Silverstorm, Dark Priestess

Don't let the subtle weaving of the words
Combine to let the message turn absurd
The simplest things of shadow's weave
Will seek your thought and mind's deceive

But calm your passion, calm your strife
In clear reason find your power's life
Merge with the one who wrote the words
And strip away deceptive cords

The true child sees through cloaks of night
Can catch deceptions in their flight
And through the thoughts she holds so dear
She sees the message growing clear

So strip away the words' great play
They seek to fool the fools, buy nay -
Those such as you can see through it
Unless you cry too soon defeat

Be calm, and think the way you should
Abandon thoughts of bad and good
But be that which the writer is
And in its comfort, find your bliss

Your understanding comes from you
With it, the knowledge that's your due
So seek your elder's thought, my friend
And learn the simple message of the end.

Penned by my hand on the 9th of Phaestian, in the year 287 AF.
