Guardian angel up above, watching over me
If I can, if I may, make a request of thee
I know you keep an eye on all I do and say
and watch upon my safety, and hear me when I pray
But there are others in more pain, and I ask for you to go
help them in their time of need, and comfort their sorrow
I'll be strong if I get hurt, I promise I will try
to not complain about the pain, and I promise I won't cry
But those people I read about on the news, and see on my tv
They need a little extra help, so don't worry about me
Be by their side and help the hearts of those who are missing theirs,
wipe their tears and comfort them, cause someone out their cares
And for those who must go, and leave this world that's dear,
lead them on their way in safety, calm their growing fear
And when all is said and done, and all the tears have dried
Go ahead and stay a while, to simply be by their side
I don't mind if you're gone for long, I know you'll return again
but right now I know of others who need that extra angelic friend
So take your time, and I'll be here, sending wishes and prayers of hope
You do what you can for every child, woman, and man, helping them to
cope
I'll be safe, you will see, and I won't have to call
Cause for now my guardian angel, you are guarding one and all
lead them on their way in safety, calm their growing fears
