I raise my head up to the sun's warm rays,
I look around and realize this is where I shall spend most of my days.
I stretch and beam, my home is rather beautiful to see,
I have such lovely shade under a rather tall and grand oak tree.
Between its boughs, the sky is a wonderful hue,
It's of a delicate, soft, light blue.
The breeze is fantastic, upon this lush hill,
The forest is calming, the rivers seem still.
I'm caught in a picturesque land, astoundingly alive,
with creatures of all shapes and sizes, plants that grow, bloom, and
thrive.
And for a while, I lived happy and free,
I even made friends with this sweet little bee.
I was quite settled, with not a care in my heart,
And that's when my world started falling apart.
It all started when a young adventurer stumbled my way,
He was charming in all he did say.
He talked on and on of his past and my beauty,
He constantly brought up talks of his duty.
He was a knight, as charming as ever,
His charm was like lightning and he was quite clever.
He had a way with words, he was also quite sincere,
He then picked me up, his intent seemed so clear.
I struggled not and instantly flew to his embrace,
I was enamored by it all, his personality, his charm, his face.
He took me to a village, and showed me to all,
They seemed to gape and talk of my beauty in awe.
Of course I did blush, I was flattered by their words,
My spirit was flying higher than the birds.
But as night fell, my prince brought me to a dank looking bar,
He tried to explain of his travels near and far.
How it would be unsafe for a beauty like me,
unsuitable for myself if he were to travel on sea.
The ride would be to dangerous, to rough,
Fragile little me would not be tough enough.
And so he gave me to a girl who would watch over me,
She left me by the window, and it was there the truth I did see.
Right outside, under the stars and the moon of the night sky,
My prince kissed that girl as she started to cry.
They embraced and my heart started to wilt and turn sour.
I realized my prince couldn't love me like he did her....for I was only
a flower.
Penned by my hand on the 9th of Sarapin, in the year 286 AF.
