The Star

I watched a star fall from the sky
Watched it plummet towards the earth below
I traked its path through the night
Wondering where it might go
Smoldering where it came to rest
Luster and shine growinf faint
I longed to grasp it in my hand
But feared I would spoil, would taint
All my fears cast aside
I hold the orb, regard my prize
I peered deep within its depths
Welcomed by a surprise
Held within this burning sphere
Is simply a love so true
For I saw the glow that was my star
Was nothing more than a memory of you

Penned by my hand on the 16th of Chronos, in the year 283 AF.
