I'm so lonely tonight
Won't you sit with me?
Just be near, that's all I ask.
Its nice to be near you
So calm and peaceful.
Won't you hold my hand?
Just my hand, that's all I ask.
Its nice to be with you
Your hand is warm in mine.
I'm so cold tonight
Won't you hold me?
Just your arm around me, that's all I ask.
Its nice to be like this
I could stay with you forever.
Won't you kiss me?
Just a kiss between friends, that's all I ask.
I could kiss you forever.

I may wish for this and more
but I know better than to ask.
In no time at all,
you'll be gone again.
It may hurt me to be here,
just as friends with you,
but I'd rather suffer alone
than hurt you as well.
But, even so..
Won't you sit with me?
