What a fool

What a fool,
To find a little meaning,
In words you never said.

Old songs fade,
Smiling as the lyrics slip away

Night moves on,
The evening blurred into a silver haze

What a fool,
To borrow from a daydream,
Of lilacs on the breeze.

Full moon sways,
Drifting through silken azure waves

Long way home,
Thought I'd found a place for me to stay

What a fool,
The quiet after laughing,
The song that starts to fade.

Penned by my hand on the 7th of Glacian, in the year 1016 AF.
