New Beginnings

Greetings, Sapience, a tale arrives,
Of winding roads and changing lives.
Where bamboo bends and shadows brim,
New ministers rise as old lights dim.

Through wastes we wander, through dust we roam,
Seeking a friend, a place called home.
Some disagree, and some depart,
Yet every journey leaves its mark.

A concussion bomb, a Serpent's surprise,
A flash of mischief before our eyes.
The journeyman studies the vellum with care,
Searching for meaning in what lingers there.

Triumphantly returning, a friend to greet,
With weary steps and dust-covered feet.
Yet journeys end as new ones begin,
And change brings both questions and grins.

Now Hashan watches as new ministers stand,
With fresh ambitions to guide the land.
May wisdom temper each bold decree,
And may our city grow wild and free.

For bamboo may bow when the fierce winds blow,
And serpents may vanish where dark rivers flow.
But those who return, who learn, and who strive,
Keep the heart of Hashan beating alive.

So raise up your voices, let new chapters start..
With cunning in mind and courage in heart.
For whether by laughter, by friendship, or art,
The greatest of journeys begin with a start.

Penned by my hand on the 3rd of Phaestian, in the year 1016 AF.
