Seasons of grief

I fondly remember the spring
Close friends, sitting and chatting
This is my family and my home
A hope for the future

In the summer I reflected on loss
I knew it would be inevitable
It was just a matter of time

Now in the autumn of my emotions
Some have left the city
Some have left the realm
And others still I worry for
There is grief in my heart
And a yearning for the past
But we cannot return

Next will be a winter
I move forward
Perhaps to see another spring
But I will never be the same.

Penned by my hand on the 10th of Mayan, in the year 1005 AF.
