Light and Good Overcome

Upon Mayan's seventh, bright with flame,
We rose at Jaru in Good's great name.
The banners snapped, the steel rang clear,
And none who stood that day knew fear.
Not for vain glory did we stand,
But with Righteous purpose in our hands.
Where shadows pressed and battle cried,
Hope and Light stood at our side.
No faltering shield, no backward tread,
No fear of wound, no fear of dead.
For every heart that held the line
Burned with a fire both fierce, divine.
And when the strife at last was done,
Beneath the gaze of setting sun,
Fair Jaru stood through blood and flame,
Still steadfast in Good's great name.
So let the realm remember still
The strength of sword, of heart, of will.
For there at Jaru, all could see
How well we fought for what should be.
Penned by my hand on the 7th of Mayan, in the year 1002 AF.
