Weakness

For my fur in winter nights
Was warmer than this dark sky
When did I become so weak?

Being in the hollow I came to seek
Where's the farthest I can reach
Knowing that to accomplish
I have to let go of all things

I know, I was there before
Looking warm in an empty room
I know, I was learning though
Looking warm in someone's dream
More than once, there I've been
Looking for escape into a dream

And here I am, my warm fur
Snowing again and I don't know how
Or why so weak I have become

They ask to let down your guard
Then stab your back and grin in vain
Like that lesson wasn't learnt
Like your strength didn't always come from pain

I found, I failed again
I need the stab to remember
All the strength I have is pain

Penned by my hand on the 14th of Phaestian, in the year 1001 AF.
