Shelving

Someone left a book open on the floor.
Spine cracked, pages down, the way you leave
a thing when you intend to come back for
it but forget. The way it looks
is proof that someone loved it.
I do not mind the damage.
I have shelves for things
others could not bring
themselves to carry
home. I had more
to say but it
would not fit
the meter
I impo
