Poetry News Post #6867

Don't be like that -

Written by: Ildiko Isariel, Ixteolotl Teotl
Date: Wednesday, March 18th, 2026
Addressed to: a bare-chested pirate

A bare-chested pirate with sun-kissed skin,
And dimples that by right should be labelled a sin.
He swaggered aboard and he tipped me a wink,
I nearly went over - I'd probably sink.

He says I'm his treasure, his star, his delight,
though likely he' said that to three girls tonight.
Still I'd share his rum and be happily caught -
For a scoundrel like that? I'd abandon all thought.

Penned by my hand on the 19th of Daedalan, in the year 1000 AF.
