when I learned

Now everything hurts differently.
The sky is too wide,
music is too soft,
and every beautiful thing
feels ruined by your absence.

I do not know
how to unsee the world
the way I saw it
when you were in it.

Loving you changed everything.
Losing you changed it back
into something colder.

And now I am left
pulling your memory out of me
like glass from a wound,
knowing I will heal,
but never the same.
