The Tides of Time

Written by: Servitor Ruddra

The tides of time that bind us all,
Through clash and change, through rise and fall.

By conflict shaped, by turning flame,
Yet even so, we stand the same.

I meet your gaze - in eyes I see
Need and duty, want and plea.

And still I know, beneath the call,
We share the same unbroken fall.

From what simply is, untouched by change,
We break as shards - yet not estranged.

What bends and burns may drift, may fade,
But being itself is not unmade.

So wear the crown, or walk the ground,
That childish grin still stands its ground.

For through all forms that rise or fall,
We are the same - still seeing all.

Penned by my hand on the 2nd of Phaestian, in the year 997 AF.
