The next stone peeks out
breaking the rivers swift flow,
promise of purchase.

Eager foot falls flat,
the rock gives way to water.
Adventurer falls.

There's no more fighting,
the kiss of ice fills the lungs.
The moon rises dark.

Penned by my hand on the 6th of Mayan, in the year 901 AF.
