Drowning

Is it enough to put on the mask and act so tough? The skin you grow to rough to touch. Thick as steal, have you forgot how to feel? Do you, do you know what you do? From my eye my only tear, I shed for you.

Out of the shadows I once called my home, across mountains through the valleys, bask under the sun hidden by the clouds of sorrow listening for the song of the sparrow and this pain, falling like rain ita hard to swallow.

Hidden from view in plain sight in the light of day. The words so hard to find harder to say. Ia happy for you. Do you know how it feels? I can not say you do but I do. Streaks down my cheek cold as ice burning in my chest so cold. Is it enough that youa e being told?

Envy you, do you know? So strong, so indifferent. Independent without need or want. How I wish for what you got.

Still waters, ripples on the surface, feelings drowning, wallowing in its depths. Try to inhale, no room to breathe. Somethinga burning inside of me, but I can feel it dying.

Fade away on a fair wind trade, one for one, and done and done. Call out hello and in silence are returned. A stranger among friends, standing alone until the end. Look at the wares count the gold, a mask to be bought a soul to be sold. In the mirror no one knows. Is it enough to put on the mask and act so tough, cold burning my chest.

If this is a test, give your lessons and pass your judgment. While you are contemplating, I will be retreating isolating and growing cold too.

Drowning in anger for feeling the pain. Drowning while standing under the rain pounding the ground. Seeing you all around me, safe behind these walls deep within this fortress, burn it all to the ground.

Drowning in the flames untamed, bodies burning. Voices screaming. The horrors of emotions abound, surrounding me, drowning out the sounds left unheard. Forgetting how to feel.

Putting on the mask, getting set on the taska consumed by silence, drowned in the pain. Nothing left to give, nothing left to be said.

Drowning until I am dead

Penned by my hand on the 25th of Chronos, in the year 867 AF.
