Martyr

I thought you let me in
As I walked through that door.
Peering around your room at the
Memorials of your favorite moments
Framed on the walls.
Mementoes of milestones passed
Sit beside accoutrements of your daily rituals.
All of it shrouded in mystery
Since Ia l never get to hear those stories.
Ia have liked to learn.
I wanted to know you.
The light dims and the candles flicker,
As you reveal your true intentions.
My mind wanders as my body
Gives in to your attentions.
I need this to be more,
But Ia afraid
This path only leads to your bed,
And nowhere else.
Ia just a martyr in your bed tonight.
Will you add a keepsake of me to your collection?
At least then, Ia l have a place in your life.

Penned by my hand on the 12th of Mayan, in the year 864 AF.
