The Squirrel's Father

Written by: Arbiter Lii Ikarian, the Ice Maiden
Date: Sunday, December 22nd, 2019
Addressed to: Everyone

"Father, Father!" the squirrel jumped up and down
His bushy tail did surround
Her excitement clear to be found

"Father, Father! Do you see the enemy?"
His milky eyes did see
A threat to cleave

"Father, Father!" her concern did grow
His strong nature with silver and white old
Yet down quietly he would not go

"Father, Father, you should stay home but..."
His arthritic back and pain did cut
Old age forgot his sword and nuts

Penned by my hand on the 12th of Aeguary, in the year 818 AF.
