You may see me in your nightmares,
You may see me in your dreams,
I'll appear from nowhere,
I am not what I seem,

I am not a ghost,
I am not a god,
I am within a man, my host,
In the machine, I am a cog.

I am ignorance, I bring bliss,
But you'll never get used to it,
You will just build and build,
A feculent franchise,
Until you are made to see me,
Through someone else's eyes.
