To the Year that comes.

Well greetings there, bright New Year,
So good you have come to call.
May you bring both joys and fears,
Not just to me, but all.

A harbinger of change, you are,
Like a tidal water from the sea.
Taking things old and familiar afar,
But carrying new ones in with thee.

But I know, I do, my fears won't warrant
Whatever you seek to whisk away.
For those who do not fight this current,
Are they who do not wish to stay.

So you may bring laughs, or you may bring tears,
All I can say in response to this, is Happy New Year.

Penned by my hand on the 5th of Glacian, in the year 789 AF.
