Novice Mistakes by Chryseas Ashaela
=======================================================
Young little Magi in a great big world,
All the sights and sounds before her unfurled.
She took her waterweird in hand and twirled.
She felt strong and skilled with ambitious goals.
Hunter, teacher, explorer she could fill these roles.

"Where shall I hunt?" asked the novice Magi.
Her house said to hunt oysters, give it a try!
"Ok, I'll bring home lots of pearls. Goodbye!"
In a flurry of motion, she ran to Tasur'ke.
She met the Crystal Refiner, calling her persnickety.

She readied her fingers above her shield tattoo,
So if a shark came near, its powers she'd renew.
She cast firelash when an oyster came into view.
Casting again quickly when it spit in her eye,
Not knowing she had no epidermal to apply.

The Magi fought bravely until the oyster died,
Upon which she realized her sight was now denied.
Blindly grabbing corpse and pearl she ran to hide.
She gave a cry, "Oh what a buffoon!
I'm such an unforgivable goon."

Trekking across the beach sands she felt her way back.
She hid in the caves, muttering over her lack.
She asked her house for help, bracing for a friendly smack.
They chuckled and chortled, remembering the same.
Someone came to her rescue, no comment of blame.

Grateful and weary, she beamed with pleasure,
As her housemate gave her advice at leisure.
After some time the Magi brought home a treasure.
In thanks she returned victorious,
Fifteen pearls on hand felt glorious.

So a warning to all and a reminder as well,
To your eyesight, don't say farewell.
Keep epidermal near and excel!
Though I would imagine and bet you,
We all have stories like the above so true.
