Scars

Rocks tumble down the mountain like battered bodies.
One must seek death, to see life.
Take me. Strike me down.
New tales begin with the first slash of the sword.

Let me bleed. Let them see.
Rejoicing in what's happened to me.
Distant screams attract you all.
My battle cries will be your fall.

One must sacrifice his life to save another.
Better one than all.
Captured by a lie, and put to death by his own brother.
Take me in. Strike me down.
I will pay for your life. With my blood and my pain.

You can't be saved from death.
By my price I paid for your sins with collected bounties.
I will purify you and take your life.
My sins, my shames, take their toll on my body.
Oh how I longed to be pure.

Purify me, you cried. Take my pain away.
Purify me.
Where is your judgement?
Take my pain away, you cried.
Covered in your precious blood.

I kneeled before you. I bled.
I will save your soul, I said.
I will give you solace.
I will give you peace now.

Lights go black, as you look up to the skies.
Judgement comes, your sins are tried.
Flowing crimson, through the gutter.
All that was wronged has been washed by the rain

The storm subsides as the sun rises
A new day, with new life reborn
Forgotten are wounds, but remembered are emotions
Scars upon the body, tell the story.

Penned by my hand on the 17th of Phaestian, in the year 531 AF.
