Death
Alas, that cruel hand, chilling cold
Has grasped my heart and held my throat
The warmth and crimson blood seeps slow
Slowly pouring and staining folds
Of embroidered silver, these silver robes
Of embroidered robes the shade of snow.
And thus I left these realms behind
With little but a dismaying cry
Inside these tunnels, still I lie
Broken and twisted, a horrific sight
The wildcats pass by, contemptuous stares
Their mocking stares are death's silent glare.
Rebirth
My Lady, may you in resplendent garb
Allow this soul some reprieve from harm
And accept my prayers, prayers of the heart
Grant me these wishes of a renewed start
Through your grace, may I be saved
May I be saved from this dismal fate.
To hear the birds sing out once more
And see the sights I've once ignored
This life, to living, I have sworn
To keep on living through pain or scorn
And to treasure life for life is gold-
For life is gold and it's all we can hold.
Penned by my hand on the 3rd of Mayan, in the year 529 AF.
