To Write in Metaphor

To Write in Metaphor

To write a poem in metaphor
is harder than it seems.
You need a lot of oversight
and need to get the words all right.

Each line has a duality,
each word is petalous.
You need enough transparency
to show all the variety.

But in this poem variety
too much of said transparency
will make the poem petalless,
meanings too soon to guess.

To write a poem in metaphor
is easier than it seems,
as long as there's no oversight,
and you get the words all right.

Penned by my hand on the 19th of Mayan, in the year 509 AF.
